Now don't get me wrong, I don't say these things to brag in any way, because let me tell you that life wasn't always this way...
Just hearing about our results maybe you think that success came easy for us, but I can assure you this is FAR from the case.
In fact before we had even an ounce of success, Katrina and I struggled for years trying to create income outside of a traditional 9 to 5 job.
We bought and tried all the gimmicky products and money making opportunities you've probably heard about being pitched by others online.

Early one morning I was awoken by a phone call from the accounting firm that was handling our business taxes. The person I spoke to informed me that our accountant we had been working with had moved on to another opportunity, but upon reviewing our file they discovered a major problem...
Our business at the time was selling products internationally and the person I was speaking with discovered that our accountant had ill-advised us on how to properly handle the tax treatment on our income from foreign sales.
Long story short, the government came knocking on our door and hit us up with a back tax bill of more than $50,000.
But here was the problem...
As this was a physical products company, nearly all of our cash was tied up in inventory and the only way we could even try to repay this was to massively slash our prices and try to liquidate our stock as quickly as possible.
While we tried everything possible to keep the business afloat, eventually this along with a few other setbacks sent our company into bankruptcy and were forced to permanently close our doors.
To make matters worse, when one of our overseas business partners found out about this news, they "helped themselves" to our corporate line of credit and promptly disappeared which left us massively in debt as we had personal guarantees to repay the loans with the bank.
If we're being totally honest, we were downright miserable...
I personally fell into a depression as the stress and anxiety from everything coming crashing down was becoming just too much to deal with.
I remember one morning I got up and as I was looking at myself in the mirror, I felt like I could hardly recognize the person that was staring back at me...
Seeing the stress lines on my forehead that looked like train tracks, the drooping bags underneath my tired eyes, and feeling the effects of near insomnia as I was barely able to sleep more than a couple hours a night, I remember looking at myself and thinking, "How did I get here?"
But as painful as that experience was to go through, the pain of simply giving up on our dreams of creating a life of freedom was far more painful than anything else I could have imagined...
Given the situation we were in at the time though, we both ended up going and finding jobs to be able to keep a roof over our heads and try to keep our neck above water under the endless sea of bills that piled up underneath our recent business flop.
One day as I was driving home from my day job, I was listening to a podcast that had discussed short term rentals which at this point in time I had never even heard about.
Having taken other real estate training in the past, I was familiar with the idea of owning rental real estate as a vehicle to create passive income and wealth. But since our previous business recently failed, we weren't exactly flush with cash or have much in the way of credit to be able to go out and buy a bunch of rental property.
As I continued to listen, I had a major epiphany when the guest shared how to create 2-5X the amount of monthly cash flow with short term rentals without needing to actually own any property.
The moment I heard this, something resonated deep within me and I just knew this was the answer we had been looking for...
Katrina and I immediately dove into this new business venture with both feet and learned everything we possibly could to get the ball rolling.
We went out and got 2 properties in our first 30 days by convincing property owners to partner with us to use their places to operate our business. We worked evenings and weekends to get these places listed online so we could start generating income as quickly as possible.
By the end of the month we finally got both properties online and as soon as we hit publish, I can remember just how excited we were and thinking we were finally on the path to achieving the success we wanted…
And while I’d like to tell you that as soon as we launched we immediately became an “overnight success”...
The truth is we didn’t get a single inquiry or booking for the first two weeks! Yes that’s right, we didn’t make a dime!
We had just signed one year leases on 2 properties and the combined rent on both doors was over $2750/month!
And we had ZERO income coming in from our business to pay for them!
You can only imagine the stress and sleepless nights we were having as my partner and I were both freaking out wondering what the heck we had gotten ourselves into.
But rather than throw in the towel and quit, we got very committed and were willing to do whatever it took to ensure we became successful.
We worked around the clock and were testing new strategies and constantly making tweaks in our business, many nights working late into the night, and still continued to believe this would work even though we had ZERO proof that it would.
Then one afternoon as we were driving to family dinner, something happened that I’ll never forget…
And as I looked at the screen, my eyes lit up as I couldn’t believe what I saw…
After what felt like an eternity, our first booking finally came in and we made over $400!
While that may not seem like the most exciting thing in the world, we were over the moon!
Because at that moment we knew we were on to something.
We continued to improve our craft and slowly but surely, bookings started to trickle in. A few hundred here, a couple hundred there… Nothing too crazy…
But by staying persistent, within a few months we finally started to become profitable and cash flow positive…
But rather than just spend the money and use it for our lifestyles, we decided to keep investing in our company to keep growing it. We used the money we made to add more doors to our portfolio and made it a goal to add one new listing per month.
And because we made it a goal, that’s exactly what ended up happening…
After a lot of trial and error, figuring out what works and what doesn’t work, we began to crack the code and...
Within our first 12 months, we grew our portfolio to over 12 units and our business has been expanding ever since to the point now where our business does in excess of $250,000/month…
Finally at this point, we began to enjoy some of the fruits of our labor and started to travel more than we ever have in our entire lives...
Now a funny thing started to happen as people started noticing how our lifestyle had began to change.
People started asking us, “What do you two do exactly?”
We would simply respond by saying something like...

Yes absolutely! We don't own the majority of our properties as we either rent or partner directly with the property owners we work with. Many of our students don't own a single property yet earn 5 figures per month in income. Although you may decide to invest in real estate down the road as part of a longer term wealth building strategy, it's totally not necessary to purchase any property at all in order to begin or grow yourbusiness.
While having more money to begin certainly doesn't hurt, we built our business without using any of our own money and we can show you how to do the same thing. At the end of the day it's not about the resources you have, but your resourcefulness that will determine how successful you become.
